Statistics
The Elections Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network publishes statistics on the electoral register and on every election it conducts. This first release describes the provisional register published on 6 September 2026 and the capacity the Commission has established for the first general election to the Network Assembly. Figures are aggregates; the Commission does not publish the register itself.
The register figures are drawn from the citizenship records and accreditation returns from which the provisional register was compiled. They are provisional and will be revised when the first update is published on 1 October 2026 and again when the election register is published on 16 November. The age profile is derived from the dates of birth held on the register and is published in bands only.
The register at establishment. The figures below record the position on 6 September 2026.

- 12

- 20

- 58

Of the 37,095 electors on the provisional register, 26,340 (71 per cent) are citizens of the Network and 10,755 (29 per cent) are accredited staff of member organisations. The proportion of accredited staff is highest in Central Exchange, where the administrative offices of the Network are concentrated, and lowest in Meridian and Northern Relays.

Age profile. Just under half of all electors are aged between 25 and 44. The relatively small number of electors aged 65 and over reflects the composition of the Network's population rather than any restriction on registration.

| 18 to 24 | 3,890 | 10.5% |
| 25 to 34 | 8,760 | 23.6% |
| 35 to 44 | 9,420 | 25.4% |
| 45 to 54 | 7,610 | 20.5% |
| 55 to 64 | 4,935 | 13.3% |

Verification of the register. Each entry on the provisional register was checked against the identity records of the Network during the transition period. Entries that could not be matched with confidence have been flagged, and the electors concerned have been written to and asked to confirm their details before the register closes on 13 November. Unconfirmed entries will be carried on the election register but marked, and electors with a marked entry will be asked for additional identification at the polling station.
- 31,160
- Register entries verified against identity records at establishment (84%)
- 2,140
- Entries flagged for confirmation by the elector before 13 November
- 46
- Staff of the Commission's secretariat at establishment
- 12
- Returning officers, one for each constituency

Following the first general election the Commission will publish a full report on the election, including turnout in every constituency, postal and proxy voting, rejected papers and the cost of the election. Statistics on the register will be published with each update. All releases are announced in the Newsroom.
