Results

The Elections Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network declares and publishes the results of elections to the Network Assembly. Results are published on this page as they are declared and remain here as the permanent record of every election the Commission conducts.

The first general election to the Network Assembly will be held on Thursday 3 December 2026. Constituency results will be published on this page as they are declared from the close of poll, and the full results on Monday 7 December 2026.

The first general election. The events below trace the first election from the publication of the register to the return of members. Dates are those fixed in the Election Timetable.

  1. 6 September 2026

    Provisional register and constituencies published

    The Commission published a provisional register of 37,095 electors and confirmed the twelve constituencies from which members will be returned.

  2. 16 October 2026

    Notice of election

    The returning officers publish the notice of election in every constituency and nomination papers become available. The campaign period begins.

  3. 30 October 2026

    Close of nominations

    Nominations of constituency candidates and Network lists close at 16:00. The statement of persons nominated is published on 2 November.

  4. 13 November 2026

    Register closes

    The register used at the election closes at 23:59. It is published, and poll cards are sent, on 16 November.

  5. 3 December 2026

    Polling day

    Polling stations are open from 07:00 to 22:00. Counting begins in every constituency at the close of poll.

  6. 4 December 2026

    Constituency declarations and allocation of list seats

    Returning officers declare the twelve constituency results from the early hours. Once every constituency is declared, the Commission declares the allocation of the eight Network seats.

  7. 7 December 2026

    Full results published

    The full results, including votes for every candidate and list, rejected papers and turnout in every constituency, are published on this page and in the Newsroom.

  8. Forthcoming

    Return of members and the first sitting of the Assembly

    The Commission returns the names of the twenty members elected to the Network Assembly. The date of the Assembly's first sitting is determined by the Assembly and will be announced in the Newsroom.

How results are counted and declared. The answers below describe the procedure that will be followed at every count. The same procedure applies to a by-election held to fill a constituency seat that falls vacant; a vacant Network seat is filled by the next candidate on the list concerned without a poll.
