Press Release
Elections Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established
Office of the Spokesperson

The Elections Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Commission is the independent authority responsible for the conduct of elections to the Network Assembly. It maintains the electoral register, determines the constituencies from which members are returned, administers nominations and polling, and declares and publishes results.
The Commission consists of a Chief Electoral Commissioner and two Commissioners, supported by a secretariat of 46 staff and by a returning officer for each of the twelve constituencies. Commissioners hold office for a fixed term and may not be members of the Assembly, candidates or officers of any body that nominates candidates.
With its establishment complete, the Commission today launches its official website at elections.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, guidance for electors and candidates, the register update schedule, the constituency register and the timetable of the first general election. Results will be published on the site as they are declared.
The publication of the provisional electoral register, the confirmation of the twelve constituencies and the timetable of the first general election to the Network Assembly are the subject of separate announcements published today. General enquiries may be sent to contact@elections.gov.vin.
