Elections Commission Confirms Twelve Constituencies for the Network Assembly

The Elections Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network today confirmed the twelve constituencies from which members of the Network Assembly will be returned at the first general election. Each constituency is drawn around a principal site of the Network and returns one member. Eight further members are returned from Network lists, so that the Assembly has twenty members in all.

The constituencies are Central Exchange, Northgate, Southbank, Eastfield, Westbrook, Meridian, Harbourside, Ridgeway, Lowfield, Beacon Hill, Riverside and Northern Relays. Their provisional electorates range from 1,905 in Northern Relays to 4,120 in Central Exchange. The electoral quota, being the total electorate divided by the number of constituencies, is 3,091.

Constituencies are intended to have electorates within 20 per cent of the quota. Central Exchange, Southbank and Northern Relays lie outside that range and are retained for the first general election under the transitional arrangements made at establishment. They will be the first constituencies considered in the boundary review, which the Commission is required to begin within twelve months of the first election and to complete before the second.

The constituency register, including the principal site, provisional electorate and number of polling stations of every constituency, is set out on the Constituencies page of this site. Electors will be told the polling station at which they are to vote on the poll card sent to them from 16 November 2026.
